San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, Vizcaya


Hola!! ¿Qué tal la semana?

Hoy nos desplazamos hasta el norte, concretamente a Vizcaya para visitar una ermita suspendida sobre el nivel del mar, Gaztelugatxe.

241 escalones son los que separan para visitar uno de los rincones más bonitos de la costa vasca, la ermita de San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Se trata de un templo del siglo X cuyo acceso se hace a través de una larga escalera y en cuyo interior se encuentran las ofrendas de los marinos que se han salvado de algún naufragio.

Se encuentra situado entre los pueblos de Bakio y Bermeo el cual ha sido testigo de muchas leyendas y tradiciones, como cuando se llega a la ermita hay que tocar la campana 3 veces y pedir un deseo, da buena suerte a los barcos pesqueros que cuando salen a faenar tienen la costumbre de hacer tres gritos a babor y estribor para que el santo les de suerte.

Además tembién tiene diferentes poderes curativos, pues se dice que los huecos de las escaleras, conocidos como las huellas de San Juan, curan desde los callos de los pies hasta dolores de cabeza, así como también el santo ayuda a la mujeres con problemas de fertilidad.
